Meet our Atlantic Coast Bank Leadership Team
John K. Stephens
John K. Stephens, Jr. is President and CEO of Atlantic Coast Bank, joining the Bank in September of 2013. Prior to Atlantic Coast Bank, John was President and CEO of Tower Bridge Capital, Inc., a privately held mezzanine finance and advisory firm. Previously, he served as the commercial banking executive for the Fifth Third Bank’s central and north Florida markets. With more than 20 years of experience, he began his career at Wachovia Bank, rising to senior vice president and director of corporate banking. John has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and completed his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University and the University of South Carolina.
Phillip S. Buddenbohm
Phillip S. Buddenbohm is the Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer for Atlantic Coast Bank, having joined the Bank in 2004. He is responsible for all credit functions including retail (Personal Banking), mortgage and commercial credit, loan servicing, collections and compliance. Phillip has more than 20 years of experience in various management capacities including credit card lending, residential mortgage and correspondent lending, retail and small business lending, and private banking. Phillip has an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Memphis.
Tracy L. Keegan
Tracy L. Keegan is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Atlantic Coast Bank, having joined the Bank in March of 2015. In her role, Tracy is responsible for Accounting, Finance, Treasury and various operational units, including Information Technology, within the Bank. With more than 27 years’ experience, Tracy has held significant leadership roles driving strategic growth and developing organizational culture. Among her many community service relationships, Ms. Keegan has served on the Board of Directors for Broward Partnership of SE Florida. In addition, in 2014 Governor Rick Scott appointed Tracy to the Florida Board of Accountancy. Ms. Keegan attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville Alabama and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
Matt Greene is Senior Vice President and Area Executive for North Florida and Georgia. Matt joined the bank in 2015 and is responsible for managing and growing the commercial banking presence in these markets. Matt has 30 years of banking experience and has held numerous bank leadership positions. Matt received his undergraduate degree and MBA from University of Central Florida. Matt serves as treasurer of San Jose Episcopal Church and is active in the Episcopal Diocese of Florida. He serves as a member of the Finance and Common Ministry Budget Committees as well as the chair of the Real Estate Committee for the Diocese.
Teresa Hale is the Senior Vice President, Mortgage Division, joining the Bank in 2014. Prior to joining Atlantic Coast Bank, Teresa served as a Mortgage Senior Vice President for a national bank headquartered in Jacksonville. While there, Teresa launched a retail mortgage lending platform and led a team of experienced mortgage professionals to success when the mortgage industry’s future was uncertain. Teresa is a 25-year veteran of the mortgage industry, holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mercer University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Auburn University. Teresa serves on the Board of Governors for the Jacksonville Mortgage Bankers.
Sheri Johnson is Senior Vice President and Georgia Market Executive for Atlantic Coast Bank, and has been with the bank since 1997. She is responsible for leading our retail sales and operations division, commercial sales team, customer care department and investment program. Sheri has over 20 years of banking experience serving in various areas of the financial industry.
Joe Losch is a Senior Vice President and Market President of Central Florida. Joe joined the bank in 2015 and is responsible for building the Business Banking presence in Central Florida. He has over thirty years of experience in the banking and finance industry and has held numerous leadership positions with large regional banks. Joe has a Bachelors in Business Management from Ottawa University and a masters in Business Administration from University of Florida.
Melanie C. Simmerman is Senior Vice President, Corporate Development of Atlantic Coast Bank, joining the bank in July 2015. Prior to Atlantic Coast Bank, she served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for a national bank headquartered in Jacksonville, FL. With over 13 years’ experience, Melanie has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and in leading enterprise-wide strategic growth initiatives. Melanie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of North Florida.
D’Lynn Underwood is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Atlantic Coast Bank, joining the Bank in 2013. She is responsible for human resources policies, performance management, payroll, benefits and all related human resources issues. D’Lynn has been a human resources executive for several financial institutions, including Fifth Third Bank, Colonial Bank and AmSouth Bank, as well as serving in the benefits area for Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.
Rebel D. Wilson is the SVP of Risk and Compliance for Atlantic Coast Bank, joining the bank in March 2016. Rebel is responsible for overseeing the company’s risk mitigation activities. Prior to joining Atlantic Coast Bank, Rebel worked for organizations within multi-billion dollar holding companies, and more recently held the position of SVP Risk Management for a $500 million bank. Rebel has over 20 years of banking experience, including responsibility for regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, internal audit, mergers and acquisitions, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Rebel has a MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas and completed her undergraduate studies at Stephen F. Austin State University and the University of Texas at Dallas. Rebel is a Certified Bank Auditor and has a Certification in Risk Management Assurance.
